Business Philosophy and Corporate Responsibility
As a European company, we pride ourselves in tailor-made consulting for Nordic and DACH and in sourcing locally. All our garments are produced in Europe, and we also do our web and app programming on site in Europe.
This way, we can keep our transport footprint small, our shipping cost manageable, and our delivery times short.
Without offending our craftswomen, we estimate the average age to be more than 50 years.
“We are very far away from child labor”, as the forewoman comments dryly.
Sustainability
We believe that a piece of clothing is most environmentally friendly if you wear and love it for a long time.
Waste Management
According to studies, the waste in the clothing industry is enormous:
- More than 20% of textiles end up in the waste bin already during production
- Almost another 20% are produced, but then either never sold at all or never worn by the buyer.
- Of the only 60% that are at least worn, only 24% are in use for more than a year.
Materials
For most of our activewear, we have chosen highly durable polyester or a mix of polyester and spandex – so you can enjoy your clothing for a maximum of time.
While polyester may be less eco-glamorous than bio-cotton, but you will be surprised that it has a range of advantages:
- Higher fabric strength than cotton, increasing durability even in contact sports
- Significantly less water usage in production
- No shrinkage in the laundry
- No tumble-drying or ironing
- Avoidance of extra chemicals or bleach in production
In conclusion: Polyester is an environmentally sound choice. If you want to be extra environmentally conscious, wash your polyester garments in washing bags to minimize tiny particles getting into the waste water.
